History and Purpose

Soaring Falcon shows its wingspan and power The Origin of "Falcons Rock"

My mother's maiden name was Falkenstien, and her ancestors came from the Black Forest area of Germany. In German, Falkenstien means "falcon's rock" and more specifically refers to a mountainous perch for falcons. Our logo depicts an image of a mountain/rock in the breast of the falcon, surrounded by a compass.

Our Purpose

Custom Investment Strategies
with a Common-Sense Approach

We believe that it's imperative for our clients to have a clear understanding of all strategic decisions. To facilitate their awareness and comprehension, our consulting and advisory services are non-discretionary and communicated clearly ― with a common sense approach and understandable recommendations.

Customized and unique investment strategies, based on an ongoing analysis of market fundamentals, are designed to be prudent, conservative over the short-term, and produce superior results over the long-term. Falcons Rock Investment Counsel utilizes a disciplined investment consulting process designed to provide structure and clarity for each client.

Ala Carte or Retainer Basis

Our services are available "ala carte" or on an ongoing retainer basis. Clients often hire us to perform a specific level of analysis for them for which we may charge an hourly or flat project fee. Most of our clients hire us on a retainer basis to monitor their portfolio, recommend shifts in asset allocation strategies, conduct quarterly performance measurement and evaluation of money managers, and provide quarterly reporting. Typically, retained clients are charged fees based on a small percentage of investment assets.

Falcons Rock will work with clients to determine the most appropriate investment management structures for their specific situation, objectives and size of portfolio.

Investment analysis and recommendations may include:

  • Separately Managed Accounts
  • Mutual Funds
  • Exchange Traded Funds
  • Hedge Funds
  • Private Placements
  • Venture Capital
  • Other Investments

Falcons Rock Investment Counsel, LLC has secured institutional investment research and resources, including a variety of investment manager databases, used for analysis and performance measurement.  These resources are carefully selected from providers who do not directly manage money or engage in any other business that might compromise the integrity of data.

Our clients have included private families, small business owners, corporate executives, qualified retirement plans, trusts, endowments, foundations, and charitable organizations. Each client is unique, and we offer flexibility in the ways we work with them.
